Last night on Eyewitness News there was a report of a bus collapsing through the roof of a parking garage in New Hyde Park.

The front end of the charter coach (a late-model SETRA, ended up with its front up in the air); only the driver was aboard......thankfully, the driver is OK.

This got me to thinking about weight restrictions, involving buses......

Bus involved is owned by "M&V LIMOUSINES" of Commack.........

Nothing new on this incident; all I do know is that investigations are ongoing; will post again when further news becomes available.....

Latest............

Latest is that it now appears that this incident was related to the extreme heat of the recent heatwave, which caused the asphalt to buckle under the weight of the coach..............
