This is the Turbocruiser II. It began life as a TDH-5303, serial 001 in 1963 and converted to turbine power in 1964.
It was on display at the New York World's Fair where I was surprise by the unusual appearance. Unfortunately, I did not have my camera but was able to secure a brochure, from which this photo is taken. BTW, the bus doors were closed and a tour of the interior was not possible.
Love them wheels!
This bus also became the Turbocruiser III when a sliding sash was added and the trapezoid GM emblem was placed between the lights

THANKS for posting this one!!
I haven't thought about this bus in ages, but your photo brought it all back; Mom and my older brother and I saw this bus at the Fair (my brother, sadly, left our camera at home!)
I would have LOVED to have gone for a ride on this baby; thank God GREYHOUND's New Looks were available for a "joyride"!
Again, thanks for bringing back some long-forgotten memories......

GM must not have minded when Greyhound borrowed the name "Turbocruiser", for its MCI coaches equipped with Allison GT engines...
Perhaps since GM owned Allison then...
