It's sometime in the early fifties that we are treated to a photo-op at the Kenmore, Ohio Barns of the Akron Transportation Company (ATC) of Akron, Ohio.
In our first image we see some real old fashioned body work (done by masters of the trade in those days) to a 1941 40 passenger Mack Model CM-3G and one of forty likenesses numbered in the 200 series and delivered in increments between 1941 and 1942 to ATC.
This was no child's play in those days cutting to spec and riveting in heavy aluminum panels to make a 'real bus' whole again - a far cry from today's glorified Styrofoam boxes!
In the second image, we see Mack # 227 readying for a 'pit stop' lube job before heading back to work.
#227 and Twin Coach #332 beside it are two of the over 50 new buses ATC put in service just before the war.
