It seems that for the first time since 1979 there are no "conventional" RTS IIs plying the streets here. The 2 Millinum jobs continue to see service but all the others are stored being replaced by new 40' Gilligs, each in a different color, pictures will be posted in the gallery soon although it doesn't seem to like jpegs from my new camera. |

buslist,
Out here in 'Hollywood' they say that old RTS II's never die - they just become Star Liners for the tourist trade!

and another change, The 'hound closed its station (at a very inconvenient I might note, check the MCA map) and has moved to the transit center. Not sure haw their handling the baggage/express but will check that out this afternoon. This marks a return to downtown for them after a 20+ years absence, and the transit center is only a block away from the old 'hound depot. |

Well never say never. PT runs a shuttle from a downtown parking structure (yes little Pueblo actually has 2 parking structures) to the State Fair grounds during Fair Days. Happened to look up the street this AM and saw an all white 40' RTS II working that service. There are still a couple of that first RTS order sitting around town and wondered if a couple had been returned to service for the shuttle, although it would be strange as there are recently retired 35'ers still at the garage. So went over to check it out. Low and behold PT has acquired the FRX RTSs. These were close to if not the last buses built at Roswell by NOVA in 02. They are single door with 45 high back seats, most on platforms and have retained their COS #s with the leading 0 dropped, 201-203. So after an absence of about 6 months conventional RTSs have returned. BTW this is only the 2nd time PT has acquired second hand rolling stock since its formation in '69. the others were Denver Transit C-47s with the new look front obtained in '72. |

I wonder what started this trend of having the fleet painted in different colors? Where I'm at Lebanon Transit (the newly shortened name for County of Lebanon Transit), no two carry the same livery. Not sure if I like it or not. |
