I found this picture of Classic ex #9110 at the New Haven Police department. It's nice to know that at least a couple of 9600's may still be sighted in New Haven after their retirement.

Does anyone knows when exactly the new Xcelsior buses are coming in for New Haven? Also, is CT Transit owned 134 retired? Quoted from CT Transit's wiki "Active; 134 is retired, 127-136 are two-door commuter buses. 133,135-136 are used for Route 7 Link and Coastal Link Routes."

Well, are these buses needed for service? I mean 2 weeks are pretty close, but still.

Are they going to keep at least the best of the best Classics until they can be able to get more buses.

the nova will be around for a bit.when the new artics come in, all drivers must be trained on them. They will be assigned to certain blocks #'s to start, so those drivers get trained first, then the rest of us.I do know they had a test bus in New Haven about a month ago testeing the routes, and it got stuck in Bella Vista. So as of now they cant run on the D route into Bella Vista.

Definitely a tough situation for New Haven right now, having enough buses for service, while not investing a lot of money in buses that will be retired in the next several weeks.

Regarding the Xcelsiors, production appears to be on schedule, and the first XDE40 (for New Haven) is listed to be delivered to Hartford this week. The remainder of the XDE40's should be delivered between mid December and mid January. I also received confirmation that the first XD35 (for Waterbury) is now under assembly in Crookston, while the first XDE35 (also for Waterbury) entered the line at Winnepeg on Friday. The XD35 should be delivered to Connecticut around December 1, while the XDE35 should arrive the week of December 20th. The rest of the Waterbury order should be delivered during January and February.

I'll post updates as I find out more.

Christmas gift! Christmas gift! Well nice to know. What's up with the NovaBuses. Will the fall arrest systems be installed before they come?
