Check out the "Golden Falcon Double Deck WiFi Commuter Bus" (quite a lengthy name, no?) at www.sbm-us.com. This builder, Specialty Bus Manufacturers, is perhaps best known for their "faux double deckers" that operate in sightseeing service in NYC. The Golden Falcon appears to be a true double decker, 45' long, 3 axles, 102" wide, and 12.5' tall. It is powered by a Cummins ISM mated to an Allison B500 or ZF tranny.
Also check out the new Van Hool TD925 at www.abc-companies.com. This unit can seat an amazing 83 passengers.
Community Transit (Everett WA, north of Seattle) is running ads touting their new double decker commuter service as "The Original Double-Tall" (using a decidedly coffee-like ad that is sure to resonate with bus riders in that java-loving part of the US); I think they may be running Dennis Alexanders, but I'm not positive. |

The SBM double-decker is VERY ugly. (Actually, most of their other products aren't much better either.)
Community Transit uses Alexander Dennis Enviro 500s on their commuter service. |
