I saw a roster indicating that there are five 1975 Flxible 53102-6-1's,and two 1977 53102-6-1's stored at Nimco Yard.I saw a photo of #7809 (training bus),and photos of other 1975 Flxibles (Command Center) buses.I'm assuming that these buses are currently stored there, and I'm wondering if all 7 of those coaches can be designated with some type of historical status, and be preserved as museum buses, thus saving them from the scrap heap. |

If you have the money and space to store them you can purchase any bus there. Against the fence alone there are about 10 ex-NYBS fishbowls and ex-Jamaica bus/ex-MTA bus 1140 and 1142 begging you to save them before they are towed out of their parking spots, turined onto their sides and shreaded to join the other pile of scrap you can also see thru the fence. |

You don't understand. I did not say the buses you are looking for are there. NUMCO is not a storage yard, it is a scrap dealer. It's a place like the roach motel: they go in but they don't come out. If the buses you are looking for have been there for awhile, it is likely they are already scrapped. |

On hand at Nimco (from about 2 weeks ago)--
A few GMC RTS's, 3 GMDD Classics (NYBS 1600-1602), 2 MCI Classics, around 12 GMDD Fishbowls(NYBS), 3 Flxible Metros, 2 or 3 Over-The-Road buses, and 10-20 TMC RTS CNG's.
I hate to be the grim reaper here-- Don't expect much of that to be around long.
Also, THANK YOU to my source of this information. |
