Very sad to hear that Burlington Trailways will be ending all its regular route services after September 27, 2025. I knew its founder, Ronnie Moore, since 1968, when he ran Arrow Trailways in Clifton, NJ.
He ambitiously moved his operation to Burlington, IA, and acquired some routes from Continental Trailways, that were part of the original Burlington Trailways. He later expanded them, and adopted the name of the original carrier, which was the highway subsidiary of the Burlington Railroad.

The sad news from their facebook page

Hopefully, Flix or better yet, Greyhound, or any other carrier, will step in and cover some or all of those routes.

traildriver:

Thank you for sharing this sad info; how very little remains of the "olden days", when large numbers of private intercity carriers still operated their big buses throughout the country.....it seems that, which each passing year, yet another long-established carrier has bitten the dust (did we EVER think that DE CAMP would one day be a "fallen flag"? Sad

Indeed hope that at least some of these old routes might be picked up ny another carrier.

How much we have lost, during the past 50-odd years; the late Jim Lehrer would also have been saddened by this news........ Crying or Very sad
