I've done much research on this grandoise (and unfortunate) railway for many years; so sad that almost nothing remains.

Perhaps if it survived into the 1940s, WW2 might have spared it, at least for a few years.

That could be said for a number of lines that shut down in 1940 and 1941. PE had a few too. I suppose that if they had survived through WWII that it would only have prolonged the agony by a few years.

Also, have to include the ESPEE/IER electrics, and the NWP's third rail systems, both of which were abandoned in 1941, just prior to the beginning of the War............
