Hola, Amigos!
Until fairly recent times, a traction buff traveling to Mexico, indeed, found a treasure trove of historic street railway equipment (a good number of which originally ran in America) to ride and photograph.
PCC's (from several US cities), Peter Witts, ex-PE equipment, and ancient open cars were still in service through the 1960's and into the 1970's.
To think of what historic equipment still remained in revenue service, until not all too long ago!
Enjoy this "Fiesta" of bygone Mexican streetcars........

At the time of this 1950 photo, Peter Witt cars, like the one seen here (operating for Mexico City Tramways) were still in service in several American cities.
Truly a classic streetcar, quite handsome and dignified, even at rest.......

A handsome railroad-roof car (quite "interurban-ish" in appearance) is seen here pulling a deck-roof trailer, in this undated photo (QUITE a difference from today's LRV's, that, in so many cities, resemble giant, mutated caterpillars!!)

This 1968 photo shows one of the second-hand PCC's that once ran in the States; note that left-hand doors have been installed.
IMHO, the PCC is STILL the ULTIMATE in American streetcar design!
