MaBSTOA 15:
Truly a RARE pice of transit history!
NY Rys, I have found, is not often discussed; IF Manhattan streetcars are discussed at all, it's TARS (I've also always been greatly interested in TARS history)
My mother remembered riding NYRys open cars as a young girl with her family when they came in to visit the city from New Jersey, back in the 1920's and early 1930's (I believe the open cars were numbered in the 4000's)
NY Rys, at one time, also operated small center-entrance battery cars; one photo I have shows one at the ERIE ferry terminal at Chambers St. (the roll sign says "1 GRAND ST. FERRY")
Again, thanks for sharing this rare public notice here with us.....
