More light shed on the relation between Fifth Avenue Coach and Gray Line Motor Tours.
The following three pages are from the July-August 1971 issue of Motor Coach Age detailing Fifth Avenue Coach.
So far this issue is the best history reference on Fifth Avenue Coach.

Great post, agreed!
I had no idea that FACCO was ever involved (at least owning) long-distance intercity operation's...Gray Line 0f NY has a fascinating history of its own, of which I wish I knew more about.
So FACCO at one point owned what amounted to bus lines from Montreal thru New York, all the way to Atlantic City...who would have thought?

Would that Motor Coach Age article indicate at what point FACCo's 1 - Fifth Avenue was reduced to one trip daily, its status up to its discontinuance on March 1, 1962? I'm betting it would have been around 1957, and that it would have dovetailed the same type of reduction as with NYCO's 22 - Pitt and Ridge Streets and Surface Transit's M-105 - Tenth Avenue (which became one trip a day after April 15, 1957 and likewise was discontinued in '62).
But when longtime Fifth Avenue Coach, New York City Omnibus etc., prexy John E. McCarthy died on June 15, 1960, The New York Times obituary did note he served as president of many bus and transit companies. Besides Fifth Avenue Coach Lines, Surface Transit and Westchester Street Transportation, he was also listed as the president of Gray Line Motor Tours.
