Route n80 makes a sharp turn at Broadway and Grand Avenue in Massapequa, a maneuver that allows riders close access to the LIRR. Today, 1725 southbound and 1721 northbound both used external speakers to warn pedestrians in a clear voice, "Step back, the bus is turning!" Maybe that has been standard equipment since purchase, it struck me as a useful warning.
---
Unfortunately, n80 and n81 might soon announce, "This route is disappearing."
---
The Bestever bakery at that corner has a good deal: Medium coffee and buttered bagel for $2.25.

NICE added the external speakers sometime after they took over, I think the year before last, after a rash of incidents where people either on foot or on bicycles, who were hit by a turning bus.
