Between the 3 of these TA's, which one had the worst maintenance? I think Triboro Corp to be honest.

I don't think you can compare PBL's with NICE. The situations are different.

It's hard for me to fault PBL's like Triboro and Green when the city sat on funds for new buses for years and failed to regularly renew their fleets.

There is still more than that. Operating subsidies were "delayed " at times. At GBL, management would take out personal loans to make sure paychecks were good on Thursday. While the city stuck it to the companies to push them out, the companies made sure the workers were not hurt.

I meant in terms of the state of the buses themselves.

GBL Rebel,
Boy! this sure doesn't sound like the Green Line I worked for - are you sure it was the same company?
Regards,
Mr. 'L'

NICE has a fleet that is much newer. NICE has expiration dates on all the buses. 2 things both GBL and TCC did not have going for them. And once you are down equipment, sometimes it is hard to come back.
Again, I don't think you can compare, but that's my opinion.

The Cooper family made sure the employees were paid. No matter what, you took your check to the bank and got your money. I never had a check bounce. The city tried to make times hard, and The Cooper's did not pass the burden.

Looks as though they repainted #1816. I assume the bus was repainted white while they had warped the Orange and Blue decals on?

Nice is suppose to get more money this year from the county, so hopefully their maintance practices improve somewhat and they could repaint the rest of the 2008-2009 Orion VII NG CNGs and then move on to the 2010-2011 units.

NICE is getting an increase in state funding for the next year. Veolia is looking for the county to increase its funding for NICE, but I haven't read that county executive Ed Mangano has agreed to do so yet.
