Happen to watch 'Capone' this evening - a 1975 20th. Century Fox release starring Ben Gazzara which chronicles the rise to power (and fall) in 1920's Chicago of one of the most notorious gangsters in the annals of crime.
Gazzara plays Capone admirably and is supported by an impressive cast but neither can outshine the array of vintage vehicles used in the filming.
Of particular interest, and seen on a Hollywood set below, is a genuine 1928 Yellow Coach Model Z-AAAM-354 commonly known as a 'Z-63' for a 63 passenger open topped double decker and flagged correctly for the Chicago Motor Coach Company.
The pedigree of the coach is unknown but in all likely hood may have originally been one of four sold to the Los Angeles Railway Company and, indications are, that two might still exist.
