Here's one for you modelers to figure out because I'm no maven when it comes to the New York City subway system.
Taken sometime around 1950 on the streets of Brooklyn, we see a quarter size model of a subway car on a trailer being towed by a city Transit System wrecker.
The car appears to be a replica of a sixty foot long 'R-10' circa 1948 for use on the city's IND lines.
Whether it was built by enthusiasts or by the manufacturer for promotional purposes remains an open question.
Please feel free to fill in more details.

That's quite a model of an R-10; I wonder if it has survived? |

This model was displayed at the Transit Museum on Schermerhorn St. & Boerum Place. The accompanying photo shows it displayed on the Court Street platform along side the historic subway fleet, but the last time I was there, it was moved to another part of the museum closer to the frontal bus displays.
