Transport Wonders of Tomorrow Designed by Raymond Loewy.
If industrial designer Raymond Loewy had his say in the matter, post-war commuters would have traveled in helicopter-buses and streamlined, double-decker trains.
One of the foremost men in the field of modern transportation design at the time, Loewy worked on plans for vehicles of the future which would be faster, more comfortable and better-looking than anything dreamed up in the pre-war era.
The photo below shows an early Loewy rendering for the Greyhound Corporation that may well have been what eventually morphed into the famous GM PD 4501 'Scenicruiser'.
