At 9:00 PM this Sunday night HBO is premiering a new mini-series entitled 'Boardwalk Empire' - a gangland epic that takes place in Prohibition era Atlantic City.

I'm excited to see what period buses they might be using or will they do the same thing they did in the 'Sting' and pass off a 1950's Crown school bus for a twenties transit coach - you really can't blame them though because there aren't too many buses left from that time frame.

BTW; the interiors were all shot at a specially created set in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Mr 'L' -

Alas, I don't have HBO. My daughter has figured other options to view it, that don't involve the cable company getting mad at us...

Keep in mind the new series evidently has the hand of Martin Scorsese in it. His past works have usually been faithful to the "technical"
end of it, and they get scenes right and plausible. The more recent "Howard Hughes" film he did was good at it...

Vern,

The only thing I know of that might be hanging around the Meadowlands (or under it maybe) is Jimmy Hoffa according to some rumors!

I had HBO for years with cable which was becoming such a ripoff that I switched to Dish about three months ago at exactly half the price but without HBO.

However, the fall brings back Bill Maher who is a favorite of mine along with some good original movies and at least one or two new mini series presentations so I added HBO at nominal cost.

I'm pretty much a homebody now and the TV helps keep me occupied (when I'm not on the computer).

Regards,

Mr. 'L'
