FNYL,
I think I may have taken pictures of these same buses about two years ago in the back of Redhook on one of my regular sojourns to Brooklyn.
The guy must rent them out for movie shoots - the RTS's are in great shape as can be seen in my picture below.
I also cleaned up your image a bit but I think your lens may need a little Windex!
Nice work,
Regards,
Mr. 'L'

Holy Christ, you can tell the destination signs on those RTS buses are fake. |

Maybe someone in the neighborhood to knock on the door, and ask nicely of the GM Builder Data
on the plate inside the door of #7585? FAIK, the folks there might be nice people with polite walk-in
types who act right...
Sure beats the walk-in pests trying to sell light bulbs, copy paper and whatever...

I just came up with another idea to try & find out the identity of the fishbowl.
If any of the members can identify the model, such as a 5307A, then we could look at the production lists and see if any delivered unit carried an original fleet number of 7585. |

Hart Bus -
Or, some one drop by, and see if they can talk their way into checking the GM T&C plate in it.
Abates any second guessing, yes? <G>
Who knows? Walk in with a book featuring the series of coaches, and who knows the rewards?
Take a box of donuts? No one ever said primary source research is easy!

ECA,
Now, that would be your proverbial 'needle in a haystack' or really 'pushing the envelope'!
The chance that the number 7585 was the real original assignment for that bus is remote at best although not impossible.
I think the quickest way to find out is by asking them - the worst they'll do is throw you out on your ear!
I have a friend in Rockaway Park who I've worked with on movie cars who might know this guy - I'll see what I can find out.
Looking forward to our annual lunch.
Regards,
WCA |
