Mac -
Welcome to the Forum here, and great to see still another new name!
That's one snappy looking, and well done blog and website! As for the Prevosts: You have any reliable Pier contacts who
may have some helpful info on why the coaches are there? Just the presence hints they may be awaiting an Eastbound,
RO/RO Vessel for Europe? (Might load to Wallenius?)

Thank you!
Export is a possibility, but that is usually handled in another part of the harbour.
The buses are in a compound used by double decker tour busses.
My theory is that Holland America may use them here. Their cruise ships come into Halifax so it does make some sense to have their own busses instead of using charters.
Holland America also goes into Sydney, Nova Scotia -an overnight trip from Halifax. The busses could get there in 5 hours and be ready to give tours there too. |

You probably offer the most likely conjecture about these coaches. You are on scene, and I'm not.
Piers have a way of following similar practices. Location of where cargo is parked or stored carries its own stories...

I have learned that the buses were bought by Ambassatours, and were driven crosss country by drivers who had been working at the Vancouver Olympics.
The busses will be used for local tours for cruise ship passengers in Halifax.
Ambassatours also has more than a dozen double decker British buses, many of them Routemasters. |
