I'm Darren, a 36-year-old computer programmer by day. I hail from Louisville, home of TARC. I have indeed shot the breeze with timecruncher a few times, but can't even begin to aspire to know as much as he does, as I am not involved in the bus transit industry. Yet.

I was a captive rider from 1991 to 2002. Those would be my college years (computer science), and then some. Mostly on Flx fishbowls, 870s, RTS-04s, Metro B's, Metro D's (though I understand they're not most mechanics' or drivers' favorites, I miss 'em all as a rider), and of course Gillig low-floors.

One of these days I'd like to find some old Louisville bus maps and schedules from before 1990, but there's almost never anything on eBay or in flea markets or anything.

I've started riding occasionally again a couple months ago. (I still have to drive to/from work.) Yes, nowadays it's almost all Gilligs. *yawn*

So that's me in a nutshell.

dsevil,

Any friend of Cliff's is a friend of mine - his knowledge of this business is second to none and he will be a good mentor for you.

Anyway, as a self appointed unofficial greeting committee of one here at BusTalk, let me just do that and say that new members and fresh ideas are always welcome and we look forward to your contributions and input.

So, 'welcome aboard'!

Mr. Linsky - Green Bus Lines, Inc., Jamaica, NY
