Here's an interesting photo taken in the late 60's from a rooftop on Kew Gardens Road looking westward toward Queens Boulevard and catching in its lens two Green Bus Lines GM New Looks picking up passengers at the Eighth Avenue Subway on the Q10 route.
At the time, the Q10 was a four branch line with separate buses signed for Hamilton Beach, Old South Road, Richmond Hill Circle and what was already JFK International Airport.
A really great image (although the photographer didn't realize it!).

Seen this photo also at KGH.com, thanks for enlarging it Mr. L. I can get a better look at those Q10's. I'm also looking out to the right to where the Q46's (back then the Q44A's) lay over at the end of their line on Queens Boulevard. There is a vague image of something in front of Dana's Florist but nothing clearly seen. The 8000 series batwing buses were popular on the Q44A during that time.
Thanks to David Straub for the photos and thanks to Mr. L. for sharing here. |

Rich,
Thanks - it really is a great photo because it still shows a corner of the yet to be demolished Kew Gardens Hospital (center left).
I also checked out the Q44 terminus as well as the Q37 (side of the hospital) but could see no other buses.
Pictured below (upper) is a 1939 shot of the same area showing two Green Line 1939 Mack Model CM's heading southbound along Queens Boulevard, but they were not working the Q 60 line at the time.
In the close up of the same model (lower frame) you will note the 'World's Fair' livery.
Green Line did not operate the Q60 prior to 1943 but did have a special permit to pick up fair goers along Queens Boulevard in 1939/40.
