Interesting - I didn't know they had any of the ex-Broome County buses. |

Dear Mike:
Another great job. I would like to add three comments to this topic.
1 - No mention of Bus 211 a Grumman Fllxible. Look in the Bus Gallery under "Private Transportation" and there is a picture of the bus that you took on 5/26/01. Its the first one in the gallery.
2 - I don't know if this is the only Grumman they ran. I remember seeing one (off route) n/b on Carlton Ave, approaching DeKalb. Can't remember the number.
3 - According to a post by Sol Zeller on March 9, 2000. The B 110 franchise was awarded to Marcu Perlstein in 1960. He started service with rented 1948 GM 4101's. Then with UMTA funds he purchased some TDH5302's.
Shortly after the purchase, his son Izzy, his right hand man was crushed to death between two buses when the E-brake accideently released. The father never recovered from the tragedy and died the following year. The accident happened at an old yard on 39th Street / 13th Avenue.
The company was taken over by Jack Marmerstein (one of the drivers) and was still the owner when the post was written |

Thanks for the additional info! Aside from the single Grumman scrapped in 2001, I don't have any information prior to 2004. As the post says, it's an incomplete roster of their fleet since 2004. If anyone has more information about their equipment in the early 2000s, I'll be glad to expand it.
Also, if anyone has access to a Gillig delivery list, please let me know. I have several Gilig serial numbers I'd like to look up. Unfortunately, the builders databased at Western Transit have been offline for quite some time. |

206 which is a 1990 Orion V should be added to the list. 502 is a Gillig Phantom which I saw last sunday. I waited to see all the buses in service and didn't see 508. |

Updated accordingly. If you see them again up close, try to jot down the serial numbers. A photo of the registration sticker would also do the trick. |

206 was originally a Madison Metro Bus. I rode 508 today and the only evidence of the previous operator is that the bus had the fleet number 2. It also appears they bought the bus with no seats and put new ones in. The side facing seats are padded red seats and the foward facing seats are blue plastic seats and look like the same seats used on City Sights double deckers. City Sights MCI 721 was also running on the B110 today. |

The Gilligs are probably former airport shuttles. The side facing seats may be originals, while the additional blue seats were installed where the luggage racks used to be. |

Mike- A third edit is in order. Look at my post about bus 211 and do another edit..
Also why are there gaps in the 2xx series ?
There is no lisiting for
204
207
210
211 ( to be added in)
213
215, 216 amd 217
222, 223, 224 and 225
229 and 230.
Also shown are two buses with fleet # 219 - one is ex Pace 8746 and the other is ex-Pace 8755.

As I said before, this is only a listing of their fleet since 2004. 211 was scrapped in 2001, and I have no other info on their fleet prior to 2004.
I don't have any record of buses with numbers in those gaps (I may have at one time, but that's lost to the ages). I think it's safe to say that Private has a tendency to skip numbers and to reuse numbers (hence the two 219s - I personally observed both of them). There was at least one other number that appeared on two Orion Is, I think it was 212. |

As far as I know there was also an Orion I with the number 211. |

508 is definitely an ex-Avis shuttle. I just saw Joe Caronetti's photo of it, and it's still in Avis livery.
I recall an Orion I #211 also, and I'm going to add it to the list. |

I saw a 1992 Orion V numbered 510 today. The bus appears to have been previously operated by the UTA. Below is a photo I took of the registration sticker. 501 also appears to be 96 inches wide.

Correct - that bus was delivered as Utah Transit Authority #9268. |
