MTA Libus prides itself on having probably the best paratransit system in the region. Able-ride's demand is growing and the service which it provides is relatively dependable. Receptionists provide good customer support and disabled people are able to ride for a flat fare of $4.50 between any two points in Nassau County. Curb to curb service.
With the new paratransit buses arriving the service will only get better.
Here is a link to the beginnings of Paratransit at LI Bus, which since the begnning has outpaced Suffolk County's transportation provisions to the disabled.
