As I type these words ,the Mets look like they might win TWO straight games, while the "Boulevardiers From Da Bronx"lost........(!!)

UPDATE:
The Mets have now won TWO games in a row.....odd, indeed, when it's the METS who WIN, and NOT the swell-headed "Boulevardiers".....(!!)

While the inflated balloon-headed "AYF's" are "boxed in" once again, like that cat I mentioned viz the bad-hearted dachshund . . . |

Bill Ritter........
Heard a report about Mr. Ritter on 1010 WINS earlier; he briefly spoke to 1010 WINS, and was talking about his dad passing away from complications due to Alzheimers.
It's kndeed sad; the news really hit me......since veteran Chuck Scarborough retired from NBC 4, Bill was the "senior" news anchor in"NooYawk".
Would have never thought that this dreaded affliction would be hitting Mr. Ritter; Bill, we all wish you well...........

| Meanwhile, the always volatile baseball seesaw's a-swingin' again. Last night, the Mets won and the Yankees lost; today, it's the "Boulevardiers from da Bronx" that came out on top, and barring any miracle rally, the "AINO's" are to wind up on the short end of the stick once more - and overinflated (to the point of resembling Macy's Thanksgiving Day floats in their size) "AYF's" again out for blood. |

If based on the first two games, "San An-Tony-Oh's" perimeter of security is nothing like "Noo Yawk's" at "da Garden" a.k.a. "Em-Ess-Gee." |

Just thinking.........
Now that the iconic Bill Ritter has stepped away from the anchor desk at Eyewitness News, I wonder who now will be the "top" Yankee fan/"cheerleader" at Eyewitness News?
I DO know that anchor Joe Torres is a DIE-HARD Mets fan.....

Also:
Just learned that Bill "passed the torch" to anchorman Mike Marza, who joined the Eyewitness News team in 2019...........

A final transition. Mr. Ritter had previously done likewise to Mr. Marza at 5 and 11, last year. |

Final update . . .
The Mets lost to the Braves by the very same score (3-1) that the arrogant, obnoxious "Boulevardiers" won by up north of the border today. As a Temptations' B side once daintily put it, "Ain't No Justice" . . . |

Recall retired Eyewitness News sportscaster Scott Clark?
Every Friday, at the end of his reports, he'd air a series of sports bloopers and outtakes, intoning:
"OUT OF THIS Woooooorrrrrlllld..........." |

Which sounds like it was their version of WNBC-TV's "Spanning the World" with Len Berman . . . |

You could be right!
Recall 1970s-era Eyewitness News reporter Joel Siegel? (always reminded me of the late Gene Shalit0
With an intro by Roger Grimsby, he did a report on the MTA beginning "Nostalgia Special" runs, using the tried-and-true "Broadway Battleships" ("Standards")
(I taped the audio of the report with my trusty PANASONIC cassette recorder!)

People forget that Gene Shalit (who did pass away yesterday at the ripe ol' age of 100) did movie reviews for WNBC-TV in the '70's, along with his duties on the Today show. I remember him doing so in the early years of the 2-hour NewsCenter4. He would be among those impersonated by Eugene Levy on SCTV.
As for Mr. Siegel: Yes, I remember him . . . before joining Eyewitness News, he was a reporter for WCBS-TV. That's how far back my memory goes, for sure. |
