From the May 2007 issue of the New York Division Bulletin:
"On April 10, Howard H. Roberts, Jr. was named as President of MTA NEw York CIty Transit. A West Point graduate and a holder of master's degrees in public affairs and engineering from Princeton University, he served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1981. He joined NYC Transit in 1981 as VIce President for Finance and Administration, and was Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for NYCT's bus system from 1983 to 1986. In 1989, Mr. Roberts joined SEPTA, serving as Deputy General Manager until January 1997. SInce that time, he was a consultant. Mr. Roberts assumed his new post on April 11." |
