As to the placement of the new terminal for Greyhound and Trailways in Rochester,NY, the city still does not seem to get it. If they want a TRUE intermodal terminal, they would locate it with Amtrak so that you have optimum connectivity between trains and buses and have certain RTS bus lines use it as well as has been the case with the Midtown Plaza terminal slated to be closed after this coming winter is done. RTS wanted a terminal close to Main Street where most of the routes connect. They connect at both Main and Clinton and Main and State Streets. Why not but everything in with Amtrak for true Intermodalism? It is such moronic planning that puts Rochester in a bad light at times. Who was behind this half baked and half assed planning of transportatin facilities, that crack smoking Marion Berry, former mail of Washington DC? That is the kind of mentality that keeps Rochster the screwed up mess that it is. The bus terminal planning is a perfect example of it. RTS the local bus company should have brought Amtrak,Greyhound, and TRailways into the equation.
