One of those "BINO's" that 'NEW YORK OMNIBUS 2629' and I expounded on at various points? They may be, as noted, "insipid" and all that, but torching? That they don't deserve.

W.B.:

Am in TOTAL agreement with you here; NO EXCUSE whatsoever for such rash, violent, and destructive behavior..........truly sad, and light-years beyond asinine...... Evil or Very Mad

The "Dangerfield" (aka "Kofax" in "El-Ay".........

Like "Shik-aga", the "Dangerfield" appeared fairly early in "El-Ay".

There, they were dubbed "Silver Liners" (a number of "Dangerfield Jrs" also once operated in "El-Ay")........ Wink

Also.......

The original MTA "Dangerfields' ("El-Ay") looked particularly smart in the MTA's stylish two-tone green.

The "Dangerfield Jrs" entered the MTA fleet during 1966; these small buses were 30', 96".............

I noticed "El-Lay's" current subway cars look almost like "Shik-aga's" . . . with a slight bit of "Bah-ston" added on . . . at least they look more like actual subway cars compared with the vast larvae and such that pass off as light rail, let alone their BINO's. Again, no excuse to justify such wanton vandalism and destruction as at Sunset and Echo Park last night. We may not be fans of such means of transportation, but we'd never stoop THAT low.

W.B.:

Again, in TOTAL agreement.

NO EXCUSE whatsoever for such violent, destructive acts (pardon the pun, but, thanks to "turnstile justice", they'll most likely get off with a "slap on the wrist", just like "Noo Yawk") Sad

I also, like yourself, noticed hints of both "Bah-ston"" and "Shik-aga" in the subway cars; indeed, at least they do not have that look of evil, mutated, human-swallowing caterpillars that have just about overrun light rail/rapid transit systems around the world. Sad

Trust me, you do NOT want to see the giant. "juiced up", sinister-looking millipedes that soon will be invading "Bah-ston's" Green Line and "SEPTIC's" subway-"soiface" lines, replacing Philly's boxy, bland, "rolling juice boxes" that have been in "soivice" since the 1980s. Razz

So far as buses go, last bus I liked was, of course, the "Are-Tee-Es"; heck, even the GRUMMAN/METRO "B" even grew on you after awhile.....today's "BINOs", on the other hand........(!!) Razz Razz

Yeah, "El-Lay" seemed to fall in love with what, in that town, would be considered "Koufaxes" in their performance, sooner than "Noo Yawk" (both in terms of the "Tee-Yay" and "The Little Red Bus That Could").

W.B.:

Like "Shik-aga", "El-Ay" seemed to take the "Koufaxes" to heart, more than "Noo Yawk" ever did.

Also, the SCRTD took delivery of 25 "suboiban" models.

Most, but not all, were a/c-equipped, and all had underfloor luggage bins.......

W.B:

You GOTTA read this..........

Last night, I was talking to an old friend of mine from Mineola, whom I "woiked" with for years (he was also one of our union reps); he has ALWAYS been a DIE-HARD "Bombers" fan.

After getting caught up things, he happened to bring up the "Woild" Series.

I was NOT prepared for what I "hoid".......

"......after the way the Yankees blew it the other night, I'm going over to the DODGERS, and, for New York, I'm rooting for the METS from now on......"

THEN.........

".....I was really getting fed up with their attitudes and egos....they were getting too damn arrogant for their own good.....TOTALLY turned me off..too much clowning around....."

To say I was surprised (and yet, NOT totally surprised) to hear this, was indeed an understatement.

And, you and I BOTH know, he CANNOT be the ONLY guy who feels likewise.....yeah, I guess a lot of fans were getting a bit fed up with all the brag, bluster, and ongoing extremes, regarding their hot/cold playing modes.........

I find it difficult to interpret the slang descriptions often found in Bus Talk.
Would someone clearly explain what kind of fuel exploded so furiously in Los Angeles soon after the Dodgers won the ceremony. Was it rooftop canisters similar to those on NICE Nassau County fleet? Was it ordinary diesel fuel? What was the make and model of the bus? Location: Echo Park Avenue and West Sunset Blvd.
Thank you.
Joe

I'm wondering if it was one of those electric buses. Remember, we're talking Gavin Newsom's California here. Out to ban gas and diesel. We keep hearing about all those fires involving ion lithium batteries in the news these days. Not a day goes by when you don't hear of at least one EV (electric vehicle) per day catching fire.

I'd like to know too which bus on their roster was the one that disappeared in that blaze at Echo and Sunset. That makes both of us, now.
