Curious...........
In December, 1937, the big green MUs of the opulent, grandoise (but cash-strapped) NYW&B made their last runs from Westchester down to the Bronx.
I've always wondered what buses then operated in the areas formerly served by the NYW&B's trains; did any buses connect to any other commuter station (NH/NYC?)
I've seen photos of TARS streetcars passing NYW&B stations, and wonder what bus routes replaced the streetcars when these lines were motorized.
Would any of these bus lines later become "BEE LINE" routes?
Appreciate any info......

Speaking of the long-defunct (and largely forgotten) NYW&B Ry, here is an excellent historical site...........

There is also a photo at "NewDavesRailpix" from the 1930s, showing two 700-series TARS cars operating on Route "P", passing by the NYW&B's Webster Avenue station on the Port Chester branch.
At this location, the station house was at street level, and the electric trains ran in a cut below...............

Here's an interesting photo from 1981; here we have a MABSTOA Fishbowl (on the "Bx34") running past the former NYW&B Hunts Point station house (the older gabled building housing shops on the right)
Though Metro North's New Haven line tracks still pass beneath the former NYW&B station buil;ding, the old stairways and platforms no longer exist, and have been gone for many long decades...........

Historical note:
On May 29, 1912, the NYW&B began operation between E. 180th Street in the Bronx and North Avenue in New Rochelle..........
