Just saw on Eyewitness News at 4 (ABC 7) that two MTA buses were struck by bullets (125th St. & Amsterdam)
Several bus windows were shattered; thankfully no fatalities.
It was reported that the buses were caught in "crossfire" and were not the intended target.
Sad.
Disgraceful.
Frightening.
And we thought things couldn't possibly get any worse.
IMHO, it is only going to get worse.
I used to love "Noo Yawk" and loved riding it subways, and watching its buses.
I have no desire to make use of either today or in the future; my life is far too valuable.....

"Slinkies," in other words.
And to think Surface once tried out one of their Twin "Oddballs" on the M-104 . . . |

W.B.:
"Slinkies"/"bendies"/"robotic caterpillars"....it's all the same to me.
Such modern buses (IMHO) have as much appeal and charm as a crack in the sidewalk.........

And as you say . . . worse than when they required exact change on buses, starting over 54 years ago. |

W.B.:
One cannot help but wonder if, one dark day in the not-too-distant future, if an armed officer will be aboard every city bus.
Nowadays, it seems everyone and his brother is armed with either a gun or a knife, and there is no fear of arrest nor prosecution.
We now live in an out-of-control world where illegal drug operations and "ghost gun" manufacturing operations are being found in day care centers; it has gotten to the point where NOTHING surprises or shocks me, these days.
I recall seeing old photos of buses and trams in India, with heavily-grilled windows, for protection against rioters and looters.
Heaven help the MTA, in ALL of its operations.....
