Thanks for posting this link: I will be reading into later this evening.
Back in the PSNJ era, Newark was indeed the "heart" of the mighty PS system; PS buses not only served Penn Station, but also, the now long-gone PS Terminal.
Even further back, was the vast network of streetcars and dual-powered trolley buses (ASV's)
As downtown Newark was a bustling beehive of busy department stores and many commercial businesses, PS, back then, was always on the move, serving commuters and shoppers alike.
Of course travel patterns, and indeed, the world itself, was a vastly different scenario, in those PS days.
I have not been in Newark since 1998; I am going to be quite interested in the article whose link you posted.....thanks again....
