Several downtown Manhattan streets undergo massive changes in traffic patterns, including:
- Greenwich Street: One-way northbound between Battery Place and Morris Street; one-way southbound between Gansevoort and Houston Streets, and between Spring and Rector Streets; two-way between Houston and Spring Streets
- Washington Street: One-way northbound between Rector and Spring Streets, and between Houston and West 14th Streets; two-way between Spring and Houston Streets
- Trinity Place and Church Street: One-way northbound
- Broadway between Canal Street and Bowling Green, and West Broadway between Lispenard and Vesey Streets: One-way southbound
- Spring Street between West and Greenwich Streets, and Ninth Avenue between Gansevoort and West 14th Streets: Two-way
As a result of these changes - the first major set since the March takeover by the new Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority (MaBSTOA) of former Fifth Avenue Coach and Surface Transit routes - the following bus routes are thus affected:
- 5 (Sixth Avenue): Southbound buses rerouted south on West Broadway between Lispenard and Vesey Streets
- 6 (Broadway and Seventh Avenue): Northbound buses rerouted north on Greenwich Street, Trinity Place and Church Street
- 10 (Eighth Avenue and Central Park West): Southbound buses rerouted south on Greenwich Street between West Broadway and Cortlandt Street, and west on Cortlandt; northbound buses travel along Dey Street to Church Street, then north on Church to Reade Street and then to its usual route
- 11 (Ninth and Amsterdam Avenues): From its southern terminus at Abindgon Square (Hudson and Bethune Streets), northbound buses run west on Bethune to West Street, then north on West Street to Tenth Avenue at 14th Street |
