|
|
The five private bus companies in Queens all had their own identity. But this questions is in regards to the the three owned by the Coopers.
The basic colors for Triboro was russet brown and cream; Green Bus was a two tone green; and Jamaica Buses was red with cream.
Some time in the 1970s Triboro switched to red and cream; Green Bus added a red belt stripe and Jamaica switched to a red/brown/cream scheme.
Can anyone answer why and when, particularly Triboro and Green, made these changes.
Thanks |

The repainting of Triboro Coach Corp buses began in 1975 shortly after the delivery of 20 new GMC fishbowls numbered 741-760. These were the last buses entering the Triboro fleet in the brown and cream livery. It is my understanding that the color change was mandated by DOT which at that point had begun supplying buses to the Private Lines. |
