At least 2 Classics are at Baisley Park Depot and at least 1 is at Spring Creek Depot (7903) as we speak! Expect them in service SOON! As early as tomorrow is possible! From what I hear, expect somewhere between 5 and 10 in service for the holidays.

Great, I'm going to try and find one on Black Friday. Why is the MTA putting these buses back in service?

Please keep us updated regarding these details - I would love to make a holiday trip to ride and photograph these buses.

A little birdie has told me to look for one in Rockaway. A D4500 was taken from there and replaced with a Classic.

I salute you for reading my mind correctly. My joy cannot be contained. I will be videotaping and then put the videos on YouTube.

BTW, I heard that museum buses will go into service. Does this include 3006 and 10001 out of their respective depots?

See!, now we're talking REAL buses again!

You see even a picture of a 'Classic' and it's difficult to contain your emotions.

I say; bring them on and keep them running.

Once in a while we need a shot of virtual reality - and there's nothing that will do it better than a Classic!

Awesome news Mark, thanks.

(Thinks about chasing 7903 on Command territory along Cortelyou Road.)

However, 3393 was taken from Eastchester and transferred to Far Rockaway recently.

Any recent updates on the Classics? Anything on what units are ready/will be running on Monday, or what depots each unit is in?

MCI Classic # 7410 is and has been at LaGuardia Depot since at least last Friday. It is all set and ready to go into service complete with LGA Depot logos, farebox and radio at the ready. Not sure when it will enter service. It didn't go out today.

I waited on 23rd today, in BM1-4/QM21 territory, from like 5:00 to 6:00 and didn't see a single Classic. 7901 is in Spring Creek and 7904 is in Baisley.

Mr. RT,

You are absolutely entitled to you opinion concerning the return of the legendary Classics to service, and to express those thoughts freely in this venue.

Bear in mind, however, that there are those that do think the resurrection of a these buses is a 'big deal', and to minimize their feelings publically is a bit unfair to them.

In the spirit of the comradeship that we all seek and enjoy here at BusTalkIII, I would hope that you would measure your remarks more carefully in the future.

You have made many worthy contributions, and we look toward you for many more!
