For the skeighty-eighth time I watched Trading Places - a comedy released in June of 1983 by Paramount Pictures starring Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd.
In a nutshell, it's the story of a snobbish investor (Aykroyd) and a wily street con artist (Murphy) who find their positions reversed as part of a bet made by two callous billionaire brothers played by Don Ameche and Ralph Bellamy - the boys find out about the bet and turn the tables on their mentors.
A very cute movie that I highly recommend if you haven't seen it.
Location shooting took place mostly in Manhattan and Philadelphia and, as we see in the frame below, a Flxible New Look all gussied up in the very attractive red, white and blue livery of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) *supposedly plies the streets of The City of Brotherly Love in a couple of segments and includes some great interior shots.
According to IMCDb (with thanks for the image) the bus is a 1971 which, according to records, would make it a Model 111CD-D051 and, if so, it must have had an extreme makeover for the movie because it looks brand new.
*I say 'supposedly' above because in the background of the shot the lamp posts and traffic signals look more like what New York City uses and I'm not sure as to whether Pennsylvania's state operated liquor stores have such bright signage - I'll leave that determination to the experts.
Enjoy.
