Taken in Oakland, California sometime around 1950 as evidenced by the early fifties Oldsmobile (left of frame), we see fleet # 116 - a 1932 Twin Coach Model 20 and one of six likenesses originally numbered between 10 and 15 purchased by Key System's East Bay Motor Coach Lines of that East Bay city.
The Twin model 20, which I have spotlighted in other recent posts, was a well built and solid little workhorse as can be seen by its conversion to a maintenance car after two decades of revenue service.
# 116 carries the badge of National City Lines that managed Key's bus operations between 1946 and 1960.
With the exception of one ACF model 511-2 purchased in 1928, Key System was devout Twin Coach from 1927 and was its largest customer undoubtedly because two brothers from Oakland by the name of Fageol developed and produced their first trend setting model 40's there.
