Hello,

Recently I've seen alot of cutaway Greater Attleboro Taunton Regional Transit Authority Dial-A-Ride buses that have this very strange body.

They have Ford E-Series chassis. The fleet numbers I have seen I believe are 07xx, 08xx, and 10xx. GATRA fleet numbers go by the year so they are 2007, 2008 and 2010 models. Actually, the 07xx's are probably '08 models because they have the big headlights and chrome grille.

I'm curious if anyone knows what body these busses have. The bodies look like something from the 70's. Two rubrails that wrap around the back with small round LED tail lights, all red. Also on the back they have two larger orange lights near the top. The bodies are very small and narrow (smaller than most cutaway vans I see), I believe only 4 or maybe even only 3 rows of windows. The bodies seem very tall compared to the width, and roof almost seems like some sort of "cap" on top of the whole bus. There are no back windows except for one on the back door. (they have a back exit door like a school bus would.)

Despite the rubrails and rear exit door I don't recognize them as being similar to any short bus school buses I have seen so I don't think they are made by a company that also makes school buses.

Anyone have any idea what body manufacturer this is?

I may have actually found a picture of one. I've only got a good look at the back and the front I only saw briefly but the one on the right side of this brochure matches closest to what I remember. The ones I see have the newer style Ford hood with the chrome grille and reflector headlamps.

Anyone know who makes that?

There are probably a half dozen companies that make cutaways on Ford chassis. Most are similar in design. This looks like it is probably an El Dorado body. The only roster I could find only has these listed as "Ford/?".

I ended up finding the company that makes them. Coach and Equipment.

I guess that roster could get updated.
