Fellows:
Though I know our good (and modest) friend Mr. Linsky (Mr. "L") will surely state otherwise, I have found him to be not only a consummate gentleman, but also, a walking encyclopedia on just about anything and everything related to vintage buses and bygone bus operations.
His knowlege of "the old days" truly is most impressive, and, it indeed seems as though his "well of knowledge" will never run dry.
I have learned a great deal from our own Mr. "L" since joining the Forum a few years back......it seems that there are few topics that he cannot shine light upon.
IMHO, we truly fortunate to have this fine gentleman on our board.
More transit forums need more gentlemen such as we have in our own Mr. "L"
THANK YOU, MR. "L"!
You contribute far more of value to this Forum than you realize!

I have delayed answering the kind words of New York Omnibus merely because I am left speechless (and that's not easy for me!).
It is my pleasure to participate and to pass along my knowledge and experiences to the next generation of bus enthusiasts.
BTW; this is not a one way street because I have learned as much if not more than I have taught and I have all of my many friends here at BusTalk to thank for that.
My best regards,
Mr. 'L' |

Mr. "L"
Again, you are MORE than welcome, my friend!
One of the things I admire most about you is that you NEVER come across as a condescending "know-it-all" when relating your knowledge here.
You do so much in the same manner as a much-respected college professor....someone whose knowledge INSPIRES others to LEARN MORE!
Again, on behalf of your many friends here:
THANK YOU!

Mr Linsky is a dear and generous person to both my wife and myself. He was a gracious host when we visited him in LA last year. I also look forward to seeing him (scheduling permitting). Next time I'd love to do some visiting of garages with him.
His knowledge of buses is well documented. When I met him for lunch in Brooklyn on Atlantic Avenue, he knew that a building we walked past (now a co-op) was the original location for Ex-Lax and that a disco called something like "Divinity" was a temple and the operators were running a dance club in the basement. |

I second all of the above comments. He is also the #1 contributor at the Old Look and Mack-White-Twin-ACF forums and a real gentleman whom I am honored to know. Thanks for everything, Mr. Linsky!
