Michael,
I thought I saw everything including my attachment, but your photo takes the cake!
I wonder what they'll think up next?

Mr "L" -
Waste of a perfectly good Scenicruiser here? They weren't meant for conversion to cargo haulers! <G>

About 20 years ago, there was a rumor that a fellow who lived in the Halesite section of the Town of Huntington, owned a 4501 that was converted into a motor home. He supposded had bought a certain brand of snow mobile so that when he removed the windshield it would fit in one of the luggage bays. Presumably he had made some accomodation (brackets, etc) for the windshield. |

ECA,
Very interesting!
The World War II Willy's Overland Jeeps (also produced by Ford and Bantam) had fold down windshields designed so that they could be packed like sardines on Liberty Ships headed for the European Theater.
I believe the steering column was also adjustable for shipment.
BTW; I learned how to drive at age fourteen on Green Line's war surplus 'Green Hornet'!

I never saw the 4501 or the snowmobile. I imagined that it was totally removable, not a fold-down like the JEEP.
You said you learned to drive almost 60 years ago. No wonder the people of NYC run like heck when they see you behind the wheel |
