According to the 1969 SI Bus map the only SI express service was the 'R8X' from Port Richmond to Adams Street in Brooklyn. By the 1974 Bus map many express routes to Manhattan had been established.

Better that the first plan announced last year but not the final plan. No equivalent to the current x2, x3 and x9 which start at Tysens Lane.

Thanks for posting these bus rosters. I'm deducing from the S.I. roster that the '9X' was the first SI - Manhattan express bus route.

I remember those little metal signs at a few B8 and other bus stops in Brooklyn. They were never widely installed and looked cheap.

Were any of the recommendations ever implemented? We are still waiting for the results of the Staten Island Bus Study. The MTA workshops were over a year ago.
