True, but still not long enough. The Glendale-Burbank Line where the PCC's were used was one of PE's busier commuter lines.

Sounds like the RTS's were late arriving to NJ. What was being used between the time they arrived and the Fishbowls retired? Flxible Metros?

I also thought it was interesting that the Bronx section persisted that long. I believe it was built more heavily than the Manhattan section and thus could handle heavier equipment such as the R-12's ...
